Sally_VaughanSally Vaughan

A native of Decatur, Georgia, Sally Vaughan is serving as the Starkville-Mississippi State Public Relations Association of Mississippi Chapter’s 2017 student intern. From creating marketing materials to promoting news and information via social media, Vaughan is a valuable member of the chapter’s board of directors.

Vaughan is a senior communication/public relations major also pursuing a minor in business administration at Mississippi State University. She has been named to the university dean’s and president’s lists multiple times over the course of her collegiate career.

In addition to the Public Relations Student Society of America, Public Relations Association of Mississippi and Southern Public Relations Federation, Vaughan is a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority at Mississippi State. She also serves as alumni relations chair for the UKirk campus ministry and is a member of the MSU Student Association’s Community and Governmental Relations Committee.

Vaughan also enjoys leading a summer mission trip for high school aged youth in her hometown through Decatur Presbyterian Church.

Since 2013, Vaughan has served as a staff assistant at Decatur, Georgia-based Sycamore Consulting Inc., a dynamic, certified woman-owned business enterprise dedicated to providing high-quality planning and environmental services to both government and private clients.

Last summer, she completed an internship with WSP/Parsons Brinckerhoff, one of the world’s leading professional services firms. Working alongside state transportation agencies, she was responsible for conducting public information outreach for upcoming bus route changes affecting metro Atlanta area residents.

From 2012-14, Vaughan provided supervisory, organizational and training assistance as a camp counselor at YMCA Camp Chandler in Wetumpka, Alabama.
