October 15, 2008 Monthly Meeting
Please joing the Starkville/MSU Chapter at the Harvey's at 11:45 for networking, then for the program at Noon until 1:00 pm. This month, our speaker is Karen Johns. Coach Johns was the Assistant Coach of the USA National Team that competed in the 2008 Olympic Games in Bejing, China. After long history with the ASA and USA Softball programs as a national team player, Johns joined the Women’s National team coaching staff in 2005. She currently resides in Starkville, Miss. after joining the NFCA staff in August of 2007. She oversees the NFCA staff while aiding in the planning of the NFCA National Convention and the development of curriculum for the National Fastpitch Coaches College. She acts as NFCA liaison with the travel ball and assistant coach membership in addition to heading the Awards and Hall of Fame Committee and the Ethics Committee. Johns also provides color analysis and statistical work for ESPN postseason fastpitch coverage. Karen and her husband, Bobby, have one daughter, Kaci who is 10 years old. *************************************************************************** BULLDOG PRism DEADLINE OCTOBER 31 The Starkville/MSU Chapter is having the Bulldog PRism event again this year.
